No surprises in this year’s Pazz and Jop poll — Kanye West has the best album and Cee Lo Green has the best single. Who says critics can’t come to a consensus?
My ballot is here and Glenn McDonald’s annual parsing of the results is here, including the ever-popular centricity list, where he determines which critics’ tastes most reflect the tastes of critics as a whole.
(I probably would have landed much higher than #119 if I wasn’t the only critic who loved Ryan Star’s “11:59” album, Macy Gray’s “Kissed It” and Tracey Thorn’s “Why Does the Wind?” But how could everyone really resist these?)
